Multi-tasking Mompreneur

This post is dedicated today to working moms. As a working mom, whether you are privileged enough to work from home like I am or work outside of the home, I’m sure you can relate to having a million and one things to do and not enough time in the day. So to make up for the lack of time we adapt. We learn how to become multi-tasking superheroes. And even though at times it feels like our families have no idea of EVERYTHING that we actually get done in a day, we know without our awesome multi-tasking skills our families wouldn’t run as smooth as possible.

Now, don't get me wrong. There are some things that I know for a fact require my full undivided attention. There is work that I do for clients that I need to be fully concentrated on, and those things I make time for so that I can ensure I'm giving the best service possible to my clients. There are also times when my daughter or husband are speaking to me and I want to make sure that I give them my full attention. This post isn't about those times.

I personally try to take advantage of my time as much as possible and I try to do various things at once, especially when it comes to house chores because when I do have to really focus on something, I want to be able to do that without a whole to-do list hovering over my head. And when I do have time for downtime I really want to enjoy it.

I know some people that commute on buses or trains, for example, use that time to catch up on their reading or on a podcast, etc. Others do so while cleaning the house, etc. I personally do this while I’m cleaning or cooking. I like to listen to videos that educate me and help me further my spirituality or watch new videos that discuss tips and tricks I can use in my business.

Entrepreneurs that are also moms are an awesome, multi-tasking species! However, we can't always do everything! Even I, the Virtual Assistant, have my own Virtual Assistants, that I turn to daily Monday-Friday. They are now a part of my daily routine and for me they have been life changing. It's part of being rational, balanced, and humble enough to recognize that help here and there helps me to better accomplish everything that I have to do. So if at times you are feeling bombarded, consider hiring help. You may find that using a Virtual Assistant may be the right move for you, or you may find that you need help around the house or with other things. Whatever the case, hiring an assistant may actually be the solution you're looking for, since cloning yourself isn't a viable option.

If you need to outsource some of those small business behind-the-scenes tasks keep my Virtual Assistant Services in mind. If I'm not the best person to help I may know someone that can be.

So tell me, do you also feel like a multi-tasking queen? What are some things you do to make the most of your time? Share your thoughts with me.
