When you feel like giving up try doing this instead....
1. Remember WHY you started your business. You need more specific motivation than "to make money". JUST making money won't cut it. Why did you choose this business? Is this your passion? Does it give you the opportunity to be home with family more? Whatever the reason behind WHY you started, take time to reflect on it and how badly you want that.
2. Look at how far you have come and be grateful.
Surely not everything is bad. Did you already set up your company? Have people shown interest in what you do? Do you have clients already? Did you get a great review? Focus on your wins. Any step you take today puts you in one step ahead than you were at yesterday. All of these are things to be grateful for and celebrated. Take time to reflect on and enjoy your successes.
3. Surround yourself with entrepreneurs who work through their challenges and can inspire you.
Seeing that others face similar challenges in their business and overcome them can be just what you need to keep going.
The right support group will motivate you to continue and offer advice when needed. Don't let people that don't have an entrepreneurial spirit guide your vision or affect your feelings about your journey.
Tip: A great place to find like minded people is by searching groups on Facebook & LinkedIn.
4. Set specific goals that you can map out with actionable steps.
What do you want to accomplish? What are all the small steps to get there? Schedule the actions in your calendar. Checking them off as you go as well will help you stay motivated.
Tip: Google calendar is a great free tool you can use to organize your life and goals.
5. Get the help you need.
You may be burned out or overwhelmed by too many things on your plate. This will in turn make you lose focus and waste time on things that don't generate the greatest return on your time invested. Consider getting a virtual assistant to help you focus on accomplishing those goals you mapped out.
These things have helped me personally stay motivated with my small business. What things do you focus on when you feel like giving up?
